Google adds London Underground service alerts to Google Maps

Google Maps for Android users in the UK can now benefit from service alerts for the London Underground right on their handsets. Google has added service alerts as well as planned weekend maintenance to its Google Maps Transit database, so travelers can easily plan around anything that comes up. Google Maps can also provide alternate directions if a particular station is out of service. Google Maps for Android is free and available in the Google Play Store now.
