Google, Oracle unable to work out differences; case headed to trial

The patent lawsuit between Google and Oracle will be headed to trial on April 16, as the two IT behemoths were unable to reach a settlement agreement beforehand. Oracle has sued Google over alleged misuse of Oracle's Java patents in the Android operating system. Google offered a settlement to Oracle last week, but it was rejected on the grounds that it was not large enough to compensate for Oracle's alleged damages.
