Gmail for Android update brings Android 4.0 ICS features to Honeycomb

Google released an update to its Gmail app for Android devices today that should make owners of Android 3.x Honeycomb tablets pretty happy. The new version of Gmail brings many of the Android 4.0 Gmail features to the older version of the OS, such as swipe to move between conversations, easy access to recently used labels, individual notifications for labels, and offline sync for up to 30 days of messages. The update also adds a new labels API for third-party developers to the Android 2.2 Froyo and 2.3 Gingerbread versions of the Gmail app, as well as various bug fixes and performance improvements. Gmail for Android is free and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store now.
